  • Intel SS4200-E NAS - Drive Compatibility Question

I have read that Intel only qualified this device with 1.0TB drives, but one owner of the device said he uses 1.5TB drives in it. My question is this:If I get 4 Samsung Spinpoint F2EG HD154UI 1.5TB drives and create a RAID5 array of about 4.5TB, will it work? I intend to have one partition on the array, but I have no experience in arrays this ...

  • Is there hope?

So I built a new computer, and go to install Windows Vista first (with the plan to update the BIOS and all drivers afterwards), and everything starts out smoothly - I enter my region, my key, all that works, however when it asks what hard-drive I want to install Vista to I run into a big problem. My drive is not detected. I do a little bit of ...

  • Re: Type of cable needed

Thanks for the help on this matter. Are the connectors just identified by the name or do they also have different gender connections for each of the different named connector? For example, can a Sata port be  either a male or female?

  • XP Load fail

Got a fairly new Dell (Optiplex 960) which I want to reload.  It has been through other hands before getting to me. I wanted to reload the OS (for several reasons) and find that when I try, it fails. I am tempted to blow the HD away using DBAN and retrying. Am I missing something?  Why can't I just buy a copy of XP and load it?
