  • Samsung 2693HM vs Samsung T260 (non-HD version)

Hey guys, I'm upgrading to a larger monitor and I've basically narrowed it down to these two. Does anyone own either/both and can give me a recommendation for one or the other? I'll primarily use this monitor for work (internet, word, excel, etc..), watching movies, and some moderate gaming. I've heard the picture quality on both are very good for ...

  • Samsung 2253BW/2253LW - Can they tilt down?

I'm thinking about purchasing a pair of these to replace my nearly 5-year-old Samsung SyncMaster 910Ts.  I'm getting back into gaming and video production and the 25ms response time that used to never bother me is becoming a bit of an issue.  FPSs are making me dizzy and I'm seeing trails on logo animations that I didn't animate! My ...

  • T240HD has digital tuner, but can't get any HD

I just got a Samsung T240HD which comes with a digital tv tuner (QAM tuner).  However, I have not been able to get any HD channels (not even local OTA HD which I'm sure they have where I am).  In the settings there are three signal types (STD, HRC, and IRC).  I've tried all three to no avail.  Is there any trick that you have to do with the ...

  • Re: Noisy Samsung

One unexpected outcome of losing my data on one hard drive has been discovering that the computer I recently rebuilt and was using as a secondary computer is actually substantially faster than the HP Pavilion I've been using as my primary computer since 2006, and has the additional benefit of having four internal SATA 300 ports compared to the ...

  • Re: Noisy Samsung

Penewab2007- LIke you, I'm not a brand ''believer''.  I am loyal to brands that give me consistently good service and I bought Seagates for ten years for that reason, but now am shying away from them until I get clarification about recent reports of quality issues.  I avoided Western Digital drives for years after some ...

  • Re: Noisy Samsung

This is very strange.  The Samsung has stopped making excessive noise.  It's now little or no noisier than my 250gb Seagate Barricuda. Twenty four hours ago I assumed I would be returning it to Newegg.  The only question was whether I'd replace it with another Samsung  Now I'm not sure. I'm leaning towards taking a chance and ...

  • Noisy Samsung

Are Samsung drives noisier than Seagate drives?  I've been using exclusively Seagate drives for almost ten years, and have never heard them, not even my very old Seagate IDE drives that I still occasionally use in external enclosures.  I've just bought my first Samsung drive (a 500gb Spinpoint T HD501LJ), which I've mounted in a ...
