  • Power up problem with Intel P45SG motherboard

Hello,I just assembled a PC with Intel P45SG motherboard and Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield (2.83GHz) processor. I have 8 GBs of Corsair DDR3 1333 memory and am running Windows Vista 64 bit on it. The memory and motherboard are compatible (the Bios detects 1333 GB after changing the timing and voltage). I have the latest BIOS and am using an ...

  • Questions about compatibility (building)

This is going to be my first rig I build from scratch and from reading a few dozen forum posts about the mb not working I thought it would be best to ask. I have a moderate understanding of computers from fixing comps, moding some, and upgrading. I'm looking at: Ram: OCZ NVIDIA SLI-Ready Edition 4GB 2x2gb DDR3 SDRAM pc3 14400 model ...

  • Q6600 and EVGA 8800 GT need a home.

Fresh build.  Looking for a mobo for my Q6600 and 8800 GT.  There are so many options, but it looks like I've narrowed it down to a P35 board.  Open to any suggestions even if it's not a P35.  Should I go with the DDR2 ram or DDR3?

I know intel has the new skulltraill 771 board out and I am curious as to what direction they are heading for in terms of socket changes and types of ram as well as if they will erver have an onboard memory controller. AMD has a great platform with it`s new 760g ...

  • good overclocker

so im wondering what would be the cheapest upgrade for the cpu speed, i encode huge movie files, and do many other things that would just take less time with a nicely clocked cpu, i have a system that is decent but want to upgrade it, so i look to the motherboard as the cheaper possible upgrade, i have a e6400 core 2 duo that can easily reach ...

  • I got Quad baby. Yea!

I have finally finished my upgrades to my pc (for the most part anyway). I got a Intel Q6700 and a Abit IX38 Quad GT, and let me tell you, this thing is fast! I thought my old Pentium D 930 and Abit AL8 was fast, but man this quad core is as smooth as butter. I'm also happy to report that my Blue Orb II heatsink fits ''perfectly'' on the ...
