  • 12v Rail Short on Amperage...?

So I wrote a thread here earlier trying to figure out why my video card crapped out on me after about 24 hours of running idle - I hadn't even tested it out - and I ended up RMA the card to the manufacturer since my NewEgg warranty had already expired... anyway, since I didn't want to wait for a new card I went ahead and bought another of the same ...

  • Video Card Preventing Boot!

Hey guys. I've got a fairly strange problem... I just built myself a new computer on Sunday (couple of days ago) and everything was going fine.  After installing Windows XP and some basic programs, I started to download some stuff.  It got late so I left my computer running overnight while it was downloading some stuff. When I woke up ...

  • System randomly powers off

My system is randomly powering off... checking the event logs indicates that it is not a software issue.  I originally figured it was the mobo and had it replaced.  Now, I'm wondering if it is the power supply.  Does anyone have any information for debugging this type of issue (I don't have another PSU to use)??  Here are some ...

  • A Planned upgrade... can my PSU handle it?

I currently have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L motherboard and a Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 Video Card being powered by a Antec NeoPower 550w Modular PSU.   Well, I am planning on upgrading the motherboard to the Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 motherboard, and adding another identical video card...   so, what i'm asking is, can my PSU handle it? I know ...

  • 4-Pin Molex vs. SATA Power?

Hello all, Ever since upgrading my computer through NewEgg, I've been having many technical issues which I cannot find support for through Google. While playing Call of Duty 4, about 20-30 minutes into playing the game will freeze and I will have to restart, the game will crash with ''iw3mp.exe has stopped working'', or I will get a blue screen ...
