Hi! I just want to get everyone's opnion before I buy an external optical drive for my notebook. Which type of loading for optical drives does less damage on the CD/DVD media on the long run? Which has less error in reading CD/DVD media? Which is more portable to carry around? Thank you.

I purchased a Sony DVD burner 8 months ago, and now it's broken. At first it recognized DVD's for what they were, but now the show up as CD's.
