  • question regarding the EARLY days of MTV

Does anyone out there remember the VERY early days of MTV?  The channel was new and there weren't enough music videos to fill a 24-hour broadcast day.  To fill the gaps, they would show these 7-8 minute slideshow montages with some fantastic instrumental jam-rock.   Does anyone have any information on that music?  Who were ...

  • Summer!

Definitely summer time. [YouTube:PhjvpGt4r44]    Is everyone eatting snowcones and chasing fireflies yet? Or perhaps floating down a river with a keg strapped to a float, showing off your brillant engineering/ducktape skillz? It's a cool 97 degrees here in Texas and I'm starting to enjoy the summer time. Already hit the casino in ...

  • Friday! (Second Attempt)

As most of you know, I have a love for good modern tango songs. Since it's Friday, I leave you all with a simple post. A great song. Enjoy. [YouTube:8PQsRH3GSdU]   Have a safe/happy weekend. And for those of you looking to buy this song, good freaking luck.   #

  • Black and White

Trailer: Brick [YouTube:3cVzHeJ0Z3I] Pretty darn good movie. I bought the DVD. Its... different from your average movie.   Music: Clair de Lune [YouTube:LlvUepMa31o] So relaxing.     So lately I've been educating a friend of Cass's on all the movies she's missed. Keeping a relatively short story even shorter; I've told her ...

Trailer: [Youtube:l9-D_dowsXk&hl=en&fs=1&]   Music:  [Youtube:FQ4zObtAOuI&hl=en&fs=1&]   I'm going to try and come up with a trailer and a music video for every post moving forward. We'll see how it goes--seeing as to how (in)frequently I post up, it shouldn't be that hard. The trailer is for ...

  • X-Fi XtremeMusic to AV Receiver

OK so the digital I/O and the SPDIF on the back of my sound card are confusing me.  Can someone point out a converter/cable to connect from my sound card to a digital coax connection (I would want optical but the wire will be running under a well traveled carpet). Thanks in advance for your help!

  • DIY DAW up and running

Last September/October I was researching how to build my new DAW (DAW_P45 build check).  Due to some learning curves with the two different SATA interfaces on the motherboard, hot swap bay fan noise issues, and personal time constraints, it took a while.  I still have some MIDI synth sample library linkage issues to ...

  • Auto HD

I want to buy a HD ready stereo for my car but all of the units I have looked at I need to buy a separate HD receiver for the radio. Are there any units that have the HD receiver built in so I will not have to go through the extra expense of buying a separate HD receiver?

Is getting a Sound Card a good choice or is on-board sound enough?

  • Indestructable headphones

My headphones break several times a year and I always have to get new ones. I know I can be pretty harsh on them but I was just wondering what everyone here might consider as the most rugged set? I prefer earbuds as it is easiest in the office setting and would rather not spend more than $50. Any suggestions?   Thanks in advance!

  • Zune is just getting better and better....

Everyone here is probably a huge iPod fan but I've been a Zune fan since the release. I currently have the 80GB version and will be getting an 8GB flash for the gym soon. Ever since the release the Zune software has been lacking some key features that a lot of people want, there still is but the new release is just awesome. The channels work ...

  • Netflix Review: Basic

Wow.  That about sums it up. I'd tell you more but it would ruin it. Just go watch it.  Haha, I bow to the person who wrote this. Great plot twists.  4 out of 5 eggs. Since that was an insanely short review, I leave you with some music. I think this fits this video well. Another ...

  • And then there were two.

So down to two story lines I think. These two are the ones I think I'd like to do the most out of all 13 of them, heh. Can't decide, however, so I will leave it up to you guys. Sin Premise: The series would be seven books long, in every book the antagonist's motive/downfall would be based on one of the seven deadly sins (Lust, Gluttony, ...

  • Writer meet Block.

So I have a week of vacation and a punch list of things to do. One of them is to hash out a brilliant storyline with dynamic, relate-able, characters....or at least a storyline. Now I have plenty of story ideas, the problem is picking just one (or trying to combine 1-3 together into one). This has been my problem since the start. With movies, ...
