I am a first time system builder, and recently assembled my rig with no problems. When I plugged it in the lights came on, the fans worked, the optical drive worked, but nothing showed up on the monitor. I have checked the cable connections and have tried both D-sub and HDMI cables. I have a foxconn g45m-s motherboard with on board video. Is there ...

I recently built a new computer and bought the 23'' LGW2361V for it. It is a full 1080p monitor, and I am running it at that resolution. When I play any 720p movies that I have on my computer, they look fine when the screen is not full-size. However, when I expand it to fit the full-screen, the image gets distorted and the lines ...

OK, so if you're not going to buy a monitor from Newegg, where do you buy from?
I agree: one dead pixel is too many dead pixels. And some manufacturers do have zero dead pixel policies (e.g. Viewsonic). Newegg's 8 dead pixel policy is bewildering considering how awesome the rest of the customer service is. I'll buy everything else through ...

I ask because i want to hook up my PS3 to a smaller TV (22-26 inches) but forr the $$ i can get a nice ''monitor'' with builtin speakrs rather than a small ''TV'' (the TV wouldn't be 1080p but the monitor could be)
Am i totally outta wack here?

Q1
I've been forever now avoiding the transition to widescreen monitors purely because they all seem to stretch the screen even if you're running a ''widescreen'' resolution. I'm pretty sure im not the only one who doesnt want fat icons and fat characters in games or movies. It's not a big of a stretch but it's annoying non the less. Is there a ...

I'm looking to get a new monitor, and this seems like it's just about perfect for me. But I'm not too sure about the 50,000:1 contrast ratio. Every other monitor I've seen over 10,000:1 was only that high while in dynamic contrast, otherwise it was usually around 1000:1. I've used a ...

So I was putting my computer together today, and I finally got all the parts together and had everything in my case. Then I attached the monitor cord to the back of my case and it showed the bios. Then I went out to dinner for my parents anniversary. When I got back and hooked the cord back up, it didn't show the bios anymore. All the monitor said ...

Sorry to be vague with ''(or any monitor)'' but it wouldn't let me continue. What I wanted to say was ''(or any monitor with audio-in/headphone out)'' but in particular I'm talking about in regards to the Hanns G 27.5''.
I'm considering purchasing this monitor to replace my TV. Right now I have my TV connected to an HDMI switcher and a set ...

Hey all,
I recently put together a new PC for the g/f. At a high level, it's running an E7400, 2 gigs of ram, and a 7900GS PCI-E DVI video card.
She has this old monitor.. like an old 15'' thing.. it's beige and ugly, and came with a compaq. She needs a new one.
She originally said ''I want a 17 inch one this time'', but I told her ...
