  • Memory testing is giving confusing results

I am having problems with my computer seizing up. I did a windiag test with mem Stick A = 1GB, Stick B = 512MB Samsung PC2700 Stick A in slot 1 and it passed all 11 tests fine. Stick A in Slot 2 didn't work at all. Would not boot up. Stick B in Slot 2 same result. Stick B in Slot 1 failed most of 11 tests on first pass. Passed more tests ...

  • RAM Compatibility

I want to make sure that this memory will work with this pre-built system before I run into problems.  I plan on removing the memory it comes with and completely replacing it.  If you see anything that might be a problem, please shout it out!  I appreciate the help.  EDIT:  When i tried to copy and paste the specs ...

Last night I opened up the back, took the started RAM out and put in the 2 Kingston 2GB sticks for MacBook Pros I bought through Newegg. When I tried to turn it on, it just went ...

  • TL Explains: RAM Latency and more, in Four Parts

Looking through the specs of your RAM of choice, you come upon some form of code.  Four numbers.  They have to mean something!  Sometimes they can be similar, and sometimes the lot are different. Separated by dashes, these four digits have mystified humanity for ages.  Or, well, at least the last couple decades...RAM Latency is ...

  • Hello all, My first blog, New direction in life

I'm new at all this computer and internet stuff, even though I have been in the Computer Hardware Industry for 20+ years. PCB Desiger by trade. Worked on Unix Mainframes thru PC's. Used almost all OS's with the exception of MAC. Looking at the possibility of working for myself. Trying to decide what to do with the ''Rest of my life''. Currently ...
