    I'm replacing a laptop HDD for a friend which will no longer boot. The drive may well be bad, or going bad, but I would like to recover the data off of the drive if at all possible.   • Hard drive partitions; Hard drive temps ... HELP!

    Hi all.  I have a couple problems I was hoping to get some help with.  I would greatly appreciate any assistance/suggestions!! :) 1st, I have a brand new laptop (fresh XP Pro SP3 install, no tweaking yet) that is showing high temps (51C) on the hard drive at idle.  Is there any way to drop that temp without having to buy a laptop ...

    Just purchased this drive and it is too small for my HP Pavillion dv9000 17'' laptop.  My other HD has holder/case with it but it still looks like the pins are reveresed.  Laptop is a female and the connection on the HD is a female too.  My question: Is there a case that will work with this to make it work?  I'd like to keep ...
