  • MSI NF980-G65 Capability Question

Are there any incompatibilities with nVidia nForce chipsets on motherboards and ATI video cards? I just got the MSI NF980 board and I'm now wondering if there are any incompatibilies with nVidia nForce chipsets on motherboards and ATI video cards? I'm just curious because I'm looking into buying an ATI 4890 card. The motherboard has the PCI ...

  • int. GPU Heat

I have an old integrated GPU on my motherboard, and I disabled it a while back for my new card. But I recently noticed that it's still producing A LOT of heat. As in, it's 73C! I know it's not my card because my card idles at 50C and only reaches 70C even in Crysis. I disabled it in my OS and in my BIOS, so I'm not sure what else to do, does ...

  • Quiet GPU

Hello, I am looking for a very quiet GPU. I don't need a lot of gaming power. I have an Nvidia 8800GT (from xfx) right now and have noise issues. The fan runs at max all the time (This is an Ubuntu related bug that I know some people have fixed, but am done trying to fix it). What do you recommend? I'm open to ATI or Nvidia. thanks

Capt. Insane: FHS60:Thanks for the info, but another question has arisen: How can my HD3600 ($78) cost more than the 4600 ($40)? I looked at the specs, and it has 512 MB memory, but only 80 Stream Processing untis (The card that I have now has 120). If I get a Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz, and the 4600, the performance will increase significantly? That ...

  • CPU/ GPU questions

I have a dell optiplex 745, and need to use a half-height video card. While I know that half-heights will logically never be as powerful as their full-height counterparts, I was wondering if a better CPU would create better performance and/or compensate for a less-powerful gpu. Also, is the CPU used at all in games? For example, in GTAIV, does ...
