Hi all,
I'm building my first rig, which will primarily be used for gaming and other multimedia purposes. I am looking to do some overclocking on the system too. I have seen a lot of good things about both the Asus P6T series of boards and the Gigabyte i7 boards available. I have also read some bad things about each, so I was ...

I built a system over the summer, and I am extremely pleased with everything but the fact that I cannot install and get my graphics card to work. I have a EVGA Geforce 9800GT and when I install it in my motherboard (see specs below), I cannot get a video signal. A very small portion of the time I do get a signal, but the screen is garbled and I ...

I wanted to get the OCZ3N1800SR4GK DDR3 1800 (which it looks like newegg doesn't carry anymore) and downgrade to DDR3 1666.
According to the specs the OCZ3P1600LVAM4GK is designed to work with AMD AM3, so I'm not sure which memory to get.
I asked OCZ and they said ''both memory kits will work just fine'',
so I wanted some more input since ...

What is the story with thermal grease between the CPU and Fan?
This is my first build. I am excited to build my own PC.

So I just took my computer home from college with me this past weekend. I hooked everything up and it seemed to be going okay for 30 minutes until I tried to plug in my headphones into the backport. No sound would come out and the sound device manager thing wasn't recognising that I had plugged anything in. Same thing for the front port.
