  • How do I patch my copy of COD4?

I bought the digital download copy of Call of Duty 4 from Newegg.  Downloaded it, installed it and played it.  Fine. I went to apply the patches and I get a message that says: ''This patch does not work with digitally distributed versions of the game.  Please contact the vendor to get a version of the patch that will work with the ...

  • Hello from NYC!

Hey everyone! I'm not really ''new'' here, but I haven't posted on the forum since I joined. I'm sure some of you know me from the Egg's chat channel. I finally felt like taking a dive in to this forum, so here I am! Anyways, I also posted for another reason, I wanted to know if anyone else who lives in the Tr-State area was up for going to ...

  • Q6600 and EVGA 8800 GT need a home.

Fresh build.  Looking for a mobo for my Q6600 and 8800 GT.  There are so many options, but it looks like I've narrowed it down to a P35 board.  Open to any suggestions even if it's not a P35.  Should I go with the DDR2 ram or DDR3?

  • Average max resolution?

I'm currently building a desktop, trying to switch from my old XPS1710 (dell gaming latptop) which has 17'' monitor with 1920x1200 max resolution. I don't really want to reduce my resolution when I switch to my new desktop so I'm trying to find LCD monitors with that resolution and it seems there aren't that many on newegg.   So my ...

  • Suggestions on new build--moderate budget

Been a while since I dabbled with hardware and it seems like everything has changed so much. Been doing a lot of reading and trying to keep up with the suggestions I've read in faqs, reviews, etc. I think the things I am most iffy on are graphics card and tower case--I was looking through a lot of them and I just wasn't sure what I wanted. I would ...

  • 3 monitors - Multi Monitor Gaming

I've recently been walking down the path of trying to get 3 screens setup for gaming purposes.  Currently, I've got 2 nvidia cards that are not SLI compatible hooked up, and 3 monitors setup for a desktop. However, the desktop does not span across all 3, and any games cannot take advantage of hardware acceleration and 3 screens. Without ...

  • "The Rise and Fall of AMD & ATI ??"

I just now read that nVidia acquired Ageia...I thought that between Ageia physics and ''true'' quad core processing that AMD/ATI stood a chance of redemption by going a different route technologically. Around the time of socket 939 (seems so long ago) AMD seemed untouchable. Although ATI took the backseat graphically around that time, building ...

  • transporting 22" widescreen monitors

so, does anyone know of where i could buy a bag (like a case strap or LAN bag for a computer) for transporting a 22'' widescreen monitor? specifically, the 220$ acer one that's being sold on newegg.  i should note that i'm getting a VESA desk stand for it, so that'll make for a slightly awkward back of the monitor. it'd be about 16 lbs, ...
