  • I feel pretty confident about this build, but...

...I think one last look-over would be wise. My first build ever.  I've pushed my budget to it's limits ($1100) and the only wiggle room I have, price-wise, is lateral or backwards...so if you know of a better component choice for the same price or less, by all means suggest it.  I can't afford to buy a Core 2 Extreme right now, so ...

  • Got my 260 - 8800gts vs 260 scores

I got my 260 in yesterday. Before I installed it I decided to run 3D Vantage comparing my old 8800GTS 640 to the 260. This by far is not a official or organized test. All I did was oc my 8800, ran the test. Cleaned my drivers, install the 260, installed the newest drivers, ran the benchmark again stock, then overclocked my 260 (which I have ...

  • Q6600 and EVGA 8800 GT need a home.

Fresh build.  Looking for a mobo for my Q6600 and 8800 GT.  There are so many options, but it looks like I've narrowed it down to a P35 board.  Open to any suggestions even if it's not a P35.  Should I go with the DDR2 ram or DDR3?

  • "The Rise and Fall of AMD & ATI ??"

I just now read that nVidia acquired Ageia...I thought that between Ageia physics and ''true'' quad core processing that AMD/ATI stood a chance of redemption by going a different route technologically. Around the time of socket 939 (seems so long ago) AMD seemed untouchable. Although ATI took the backseat graphically around that time, building ...

  • Defective Video Card?

I built a new computer almost a year ago and I bought an EVGA nVIDIA 7600 GT 256mb for it. The first thing that the Card did was overheat. It got up to about 84 degrees celsius.
