  • Should I wait for Fermi??

I am in the market for a SLI system. I have used ATI in the past but have had issues with the drivers they make for the last couple or years. Also I hate hate hate the Catylist control center that it trys to install, I do know that you can get the driver without it but I still hate ATI's driver packedge including the Old freaking splash screen of ...

  • Running a GTX 260 192 core, want to go SLI...

Newegg no longer carries the eVGA GTX 260 I originally purchased with 192 stream processor cores. All they have now are the 216's and over clocked 216's, etc. Can I purchase any of those and run them in an SLI configuration?     Cooler Master HAF 932Zalman ZM 850 WattASUS M4N82 DeluxeAMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHzWestern Digital Caviar Black ...

  • Question about Widescreen Monitors...

Q1 I've been forever now avoiding the transition to widescreen monitors purely because they all seem to stretch the screen even if you're running a ''widescreen'' resolution. I'm pretty sure im not the only one who doesnt want fat icons and fat characters in games or movies. It's not a big of a stretch but it's annoying non the less. Is there a ...

Hi, I'm a big fan of Corsair memory, have been for years. A couple of years ago I built my current ''game machine''. My question. Why ...

  • Best 3d Creation Video Card for Linux?

There are countless articles about gamer video cards but much less about content creation cards. And for Linux artists and 3D folks using Open Source Blender, GIMP, Inkscapes and the like, even less.  Plus, what about strategies like using THREE $50 1 GB SLI cards instead of one $150 (or more) Quadro or FireGL?  There are many ...

Answered By Daniel B (1/28/2009 4:11:11 PM): Richard, No, The first video card must be in the PCIe slot closest to the CPU (slot desgnated 1) If you can locate an older BIOS I believe that it *may allow you to run the card in other slots, but this has been disabled in all of the msot current BIOS releases EVGA

I have an ASUS Rampage Extreme MB and it does not support SLI.  I was wandering if I put in a single GeForce GTX 295 will it use the SLi in it?  The GeForce GTX 295 has 2 GPUs in SLi so I hope I can use it.  I have a GTX 280 now.  I am running Vista Ultimate!!! TIA~!!

  • SLI/Crossfire question

What's the deal with motherboards and SLI or Crossfire? From reading around, I thought that a motherboard could support one or the other, not both. Is this true? For instance, this Asrock board - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157139. Comments mention that it can support SLI and Crossfire. What's the deal with ...
