I am considering buying a laptop. One that I can use for college (but mostly for gaming ). The computer I have decided on at Newegg.com (see link below) has a 91% rating. The only thing im worried about is that it comes with Vista 32bit, which will only use 3 gbs or ram when it has 4. I was curious about how to upgrade it to 64bit. I want this ...

I am having problems with my computer seizing up.
I did a windiag test with mem
Stick A = 1GB, Stick B = 512MB Samsung PC2700
Stick A in slot 1 and it passed all 11 tests fine.
Stick A in Slot 2 didn't work at all. Would not boot up.
Stick B in Slot 2 same result.
Stick B in Slot 1 failed most of 11 tests on first pass. Passed more tests ...

So I went ahead and removed one of the 1GB sticks I had inserted (replacing it with one of the older 512 MB ones.) Should I still adjust the free disk space? If so, can someone let me know how to go about doing this? Thanks

I just recently purchased 2 1GB sticks of Kingston RAM for an older (2-3 years) Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (running Windows XP). Max RAM is 2 GB (up from the 1 GB that was installed.) I had no problems installing the RAM into the two RAM slots. Computer started up fine and for the first couple days ran great. Much faster through all applications. ...

I'm thinking seriously about buying an ASUS eee PC 900 or 901. The people at ASUS tell me I can upgrade the memory to 2GB but I only see 1GB machines listed. Is this strictly a do-it-yourself job or can you order them with 2GB?
Also, for anyone who owns a LINUX version, any words of wisdom on the openoffice software? ...

Hey there. I recently purchased an ASUS p5QL Pro mobo, with has the Intel P43 Northbridge. I'm intending to use it in a gaming/coding system for college. Rather stupidly, I also bought 4 GB of RAM from G.Skill which expressly states in the description that only the X38, P35, 965, and 975 intel chipsets are supported. Is there any possibility ...

Hello,
One of the tech guys at my office suggested I use a program called CPU-Z to check details about all of my hardware. While using this program, I noticed my PC2-8500 is being recognized as PC2-6400. I didn't know beforehand that a stick of DDR needs to be paired with another stick in order to work at full speed. So can anyone confirm ...
