Yes, your referenced product is not considered an ION. First, it has the GeForce 9300 gpu. The ION has the GeForce 9400 gpu. Second, it is married to the Atom. Here is the press release describing the ION:

I was wondering which one you think would be better for my new build. I am thinking that I can get better computer performance with the nVidia becuase of its DirectCompute capabilites with Windows 7. This allows the GPU to do CPU work, therefore freeing up the CPU. Is this really going to have a large impact on performance? ...

I have a new Nvidia 8400GS and it's getting to about 60 - 67 C when Im playing Left 4 Dead. Are there fans I could get to help or are there settings on the card that make it run the fan faster?

This doesn't seem to be documented on the web anywhere. The VisionTek 10004773 video card is in fact a GeForce4 Ti 4200. The back of the card carries the markings of ETON ET866. The standard Microsoft and nVIDIA drivers work just fine with it.

This computer will be used mainly for high end video editing and the target price was between 1250 and 1500. He wants to have an i7 and 1tb of hdd space and 6-8gig RAM and run VISTA.
