  • Full system over upgrade?

Hey, I have just got my copy of the Windows 7 Upgrade disc. I'm upgrading from XP 32-bit, and every time I attempt to upgrade I get an 0xC0000005 error, as I have previously posted on the Windows 7 forums. I didn't get anything that helped me, and I was wondering if it was worth it to sell it and get the entire Windows 7, or format my HDD and ...

  • Intel SS4200-E NAS - Drive Compatibility Question

I have read that Intel only qualified this device with 1.0TB drives, but one owner of the device said he uses 1.5TB drives in it. My question is this:If I get 4 Samsung Spinpoint F2EG HD154UI 1.5TB drives and create a RAID5 array of about 4.5TB, will it work? I intend to have one partition on the array, but I have no experience in arrays this ...

Hi all!  I'm looking to upgrade the 60GB hard drive in my Toshiba Satellite A25-S279 laptop, and I'm getting confused...  :) Somewhere in Toshiba's specs online, I saw it mention Enhanced IDE, ATA-5, 4200 RPM.  Is that all I can use, or can I upgrade to 5400RPM or 7200RPM?  Would ATA-6 be compatible?  Any upper limit to ...

  • Question about your WD3200AAKS drive (and mine)

Hey, I bought a Western Digital 320 GB drive last week, and it sometimes makes a clicking sound that's different than the normal hard drive clicking sound.  I was wondering if anyone else has this and what you all think about it.  So in normal use, say launching an app or installing software, the hard drive makes the normal light clicks ...

  • Is my hard drive failing or am I?

My IDE Hard drive appears to be failing.  A little bit after I first built the system, any data being written/read off of my old IDE drive would take up almost all of my CPU power, and slow my entire system down.  I removed all the data (over about a day of transferring) and have not used the HD in a long time.  I figure it's a dead ...

Hello, I'm new to these boards but I'm a long-time Newegg.com customer. So I've read a few places that removing the hard drive jumper completely opens up the HDD to SATA 3.0 GB/s from 1.5 GB/s. Right now the jumper is on the ''Master'' setting although I've only got one HDD. I've got a Seagate Barracuda 250 GB. Is that true or what? Thanks...
