  • Re: Wireless setup question

Or you could run a crossover Ethernet cable from one WiFi router to another WiFi router up at your bed and breakfast, though I would probably think about CAT6 and maybe running through a buried pipe to protect the wiring.  300 feet... you will have to see what the specs are, they may be 100 feet between routers, I cannot remember.  Cat6 ...

  • workgroup is not accessible

I'm back at my old job... and what do you know, we're swamped. As always. Gotta love working for the school district. At any rate, our office computers are unable to view workgroup computers with the workgroup name as WORKGROUP. However, if we switch it over to another generic name like MSHOME we can see and access everything a-ok. I got in on the ...

  • Wireless setup question

I'm exploring this topic to see if it's even feasible.  Here's the scenario. DSL comes into my house through a phone line, where it goes through a wireless router.  About 300 feet away from my home is my Bed & Breakfast, where I'd like to have wireless internet access.  I can't run phone or ethernet cable to the B&B.  ...

  • How do I search for a mb with two or more Ethernet

I want to build a system with a quad processor (one chip) and need at least two Ethernet NICs. 100baseT is fast enough, but I'll take gigE if I have to. When I try to search the newegg site, I get lots of MBs with support for Intel Dual Core  CPUs, but can't figure out how to restrict the search to two NICs.  I don't care about fancy ...

I have one running at my home.  The setup: Cable modem Cisco firewall 515 PIX 8-port 10/100 Netgear switch Belkin 802.11b/g wireless router The firewall is just an ''extra'' in the setup, so that I can VPN easily between work and home.  But provides essential services that typically are bundled in the modern cable modems such as ...

  • M2N32 Deluxe SLI questions

Hello, and welcome to the ''Old Dog learns New Tricks'' show. I am building my first new machine in many years. How many? Pull up a chair, sonny, and don't expect me to get out of mine, my feet are tired... Back in the day, I built the infernal device sitting before me. PCI-E did not exist for the home user. SATA did not exist for the home ...

I am having difficulty installing the Ethernet drivers for my Asus P5N-e SLI on windows xp 32 bit. From looking at other posts across the web, I have found that people have had some difficulty installing other drivers besides those on the CD. • I got Quad baby. Yea!

I have finally finished my upgrades to my pc (for the most part anyway). I got a Intel Q6700 and a Abit IX38 Quad GT, and let me tell you, this thing is fast! I thought my old Pentium D 930 and Abit AL8 was fast, but man this quad core is as smooth as butter. I'm also happy to report that my Blue Orb II heatsink fits ''perfectly'' on the ...

  • Phone line Router

I have bad connection to my wireless network and no Ethernet jacks in my room. I do however have a phone jack. Is there anything that would just plug into the jack and give me an Ethernet connection? I was researching and came across a phone line router, will this work for my for high-speed internet?
