  • Compatible case for ASUS DRW-2014L1T LS SATA

In Oct 2006, I bought a DVD+/-RW NEC ND-3550A BG - OEM with a Bytecc external case ME-320X that is now no longer recognizable by my toshiba or my dell work computer (I will never buy a NEC again, this dvd burner gave me nothing but trouble the entire I had it).   Just bought the DVD BURNER ASUS DRW-2014L1T LS SATA from newegg (link to product ...

  • MassCool NexTherm with Built-in Air Conditioning

Was wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with this case? It sounds good, but I don't know if it is just a gimmick. Apparently it uses a TECto cool down the internal case temp. I've searched for reviews, but they are very limited. Let me know what you guys think. Link below.  ...

  • Help - Fan Bracket - Cooler Master Cosmos RC-1000

I know that NewEgg cannot carry all possible items, but at least they should carry all optional items that are part of the cases they sell. I have a lot of hard drives on my new Cooler Master Cosmos RC-1000 case, and would like to provide better ventilation for them.  The Cooler Master web site suggest mounting a 120mm fan on a ...

  • Video Driver-Which one? (and other questions)

Hi EggXperts! I recently built a computer for my granny (HTPC, light gaming, checking mail) based on the GA-MA69GM-S2H mobo (with ATI X1250 graphics onboard). The problem is that my granny recently complained of slow FPS when she was playing Gears of War :) so I got her a EVGA Nvidia 8600GT card to speed it up. (XP btw, so no DX10) Now, I was ...

  • Re: How to choose a case

Well first I decide how much I want to spend. Then I decide whether I can reuse an old case (and replace the old power supply).  Even a ten year old case is perfectly reusable, indeed it is about the only thing that is reusable in a older than 7 year old computer. What are your computer design objectives?  Home Theater ...

  • Antec Solo and Scythe Infinity?

Hi - I am going to order a heastink/fan today, and need your help. I have an Antec Solo case, Asus M3A mobo, and Athlon X2 5000+ BE. Will the Scythe Infinity fit with these components? If not, do you have an alternate recommendation for quiet/cool from NE? Cheers! TxCelt (also posting to Cases forum just in case...)

  • Cooler Master Cases are cool

I have two coolermaster cases, nearly identical Centurion models.  The documentation is utterly worthless.  I had to think before I figured out how to remove the front cover (use long nose pliers to squeeze the plastic friction knobs and push, one at a time).  They really do run cooler than most cases and the foam filter on the ...

  • What case, silence and decent airflow?

Okay Eggxperts, I'm in the market for a new a new build and am looking for a new case.  I plan to overclock Q6600 to 3.0-3.2 range (using Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro), and I will have a 8800GT in it, as well as 2 Hard Drives, 1 Optical Drive.  My budget is at most $50.  I want enough cooling to keep this decent, but I do not game a ...

  • TL Explains: Negative and Positive Case Airflow

Well, people, the third installment of my series is about a week overdue, as work and family and weddings have to take precedence over you (I know, I'm sorry).  Now that I'm back (well, back with sufficient time to get my thoughts in order), I'm going to discuss Case Airflow and Cooling, as was requested earlier.  I know many people have ...

I'm new at all this computer and internet stuff, even though I have been in the Computer Hardware Industry for 20+ years. PCB Desiger by trade. Worked on Unix Mainframes thru PC's. Used almost all OS's with the exception of MAC. Looking at the possibility of working for myself. Trying to decide what to do with the ''Rest of my life''. Currently ...
