I think everything is going to work fine, but I just wanted to ask, will G.Skill 2x 2GB DDR2 1066 be supported by an ASUS P5Q? I have my computer here running Windows XP on 2 GB RAM, but I'd like to upgrade to the 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate with 6 GB total of RAM. I already have identical G.SKILL RAM, except it's two sticks of 1 GB (here), so that would make for a total of 6 GB. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, but the only reason I ask is because I didn't see it in the motherboard's compatibility list, I just wanted to check to make sure it supports 4 GB modules.

Thank you!

MSI NF980-G65 Capability Question

Are there any incompatibilities with nVidia nForce chipsets on motherboards

and ATI video cards? I'm just curious because I'm looking into buying an ATI 4890 card. The motherboard has the PCI Express x16 slot the card
requires, I was just curious if since the chipset is made by nVidia if
there would be any incompatibilities with the ATI card.
Help with installing new graphics card

The graphics card i am installing is a GeForce 9500 GT I am installing it on a computer with an onboard graphics card (not positive but i think that that is called an intergrated card). Anyway i was just looking for a step by step processes on how i should go about doing this. Should i uninstall old driver first then install graphics card. In the instructions it says to remove old graphics card install new card then too power up and uninstall old driver. However since this is an onboard card should i uninstall the driver first before i put new card in? i am not really to confident on the steps so if i could get some advice that would be great.

is their any way around it because I feel riped off in a way the way
they make it sound on asus forums and web site is that is for when you
use crossfire not how I have it set up.

Also how much of a performance hit would their be in going from PCI-E 2.0 16 to 8 using the 4870?

Idling my system temp. reports in at 37-40 C, and under load gets as high as 48 C, and even higher if I don't crank up my GTX 260 fan and my heatsink's fan (Zalman 9500A 92mm). My CPU is always running happily with idle coming in at 25-30C and under load never above 40C. My GTX 260 runs around 42C idle and under load as high as 65C. I have noticed a relation to how hot my GTX is running and my system temp. Is it possible the temperature monitor is close to the card and reports higher than actual temps?

As far as cooling, I have two 92mm fans pointing directly at my motherboard (one above the CPU and one above the GPU), and two 120mm fans pulling hot air out from the rear. Their is also one 92mm fan in its own area for the HD's (case: Chieftec Bravo BA-01B-B-B).

So to restate my question, are these numbers acceptable and/or what is the acceptable temperature range for my motherboard?

Thank you so much in advance, I truly appreciate any help anyone can offer!

Regards,
-linarator

ASUS nVidia AMD iii X3 / 720 Motherboards

I am in the market for a new motherboard.
