Will the 275 GTX Bottleneck on this system?

The processor and mainboard are both fairly dated. Will the 275 GTX bottleneck on this system?

Also, what type of minimum framerates am I looking at in Left 4 Dead 2 @ 1366 x 768 on this system? Hopefully somewhere around 60.

Mac or PC laptop for programming?

I'm a first year Computer Science and Engineering major and will be needing to program in various languages throughout the following years. I already have a great desktop setup at home: EVGA x58, i7-920, 3gb DDR3, gtx 260.

The point is that I need something mobile which I can use while on campus and will be powerful and versatile enough to write in various languages. So what kind of features should I be looking for in a laptop if it's primary usage will be programming?

And will a PC or MAC be best for handling these tasks? Please give me some insight on how one will be better than the other as opposed to being biased by saying that one is better that the other for no apparent reason. Thanks!

First PC Build, wondering if someone could help.

As stated above, I am now doing my first ever pc build, and i am generally new to this world. I know basic stats listed in, say, video cards and processors, however i am new to terms such as 'PCI', and 'I/O' ports. But at least I am trying. I have tried reading up on new egg's learning center, but this is a lot of information to intake.

Anyway, I already have my list of items on newegg.com that I am thinking of getting, however I am wanting to do a compatibility check so to speak and make sure that I have exactly what I need. The following are names and links to the items I have chosen. Whoever posts on this, if you wouldn't mind to check and make sure all of my parts are compatible with each other, as well as identifying exactly what my needs are. I am only wanting a PC that is for media purposes, such as playback of HD movies, and use of music software. As well as perfectly outfitted for office use. But i also desire to run games of quality such as l4d2, Half Life 2, Borderlands, TF2 ETC, on high.

The I have not found a 5.1 sound card that is suitable yet. However suggestions would be great. If anything could be better for less, or anything needs to be replaced, i would love suggestions on that as well. My budget, only for the tower, is between $800 and $900. The moniter and assecories are soon to come.

New Mobo - Same Old Problem (PC Will Not Boot)

I just received my new motherboard from newegg, quite fast, so I was very pleased. The mobo is

GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 AMD 770 ATX

And I am at a loss as to why I can not even get it to power up to the BIOS screen. It is definitely something on my end that I am forgetting. I had the same issue with the first one which leads me to believe that it was either DOA or I was just to stupid to get it to work.

I can only think of it as 3 things. Not grounded properly (that plate on the backside of the mobo touching the case?) The PSU is not fitting correctly into the pins (OCZGXS600) It has plenty of watts and works fine, I know that for a fact. 3 being it is DOA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated even the most basic of suggestions or walk through since I am missing something common, I know I am.

Please help! I'm lost....

I have an old Dell Dimension 8100 with a 64mb Nvidia GF Geforce2 MX400/400 AGP graphics card in it. I play WoW a lot and I am really tired of horrible framerates and horrible lag whenever I get near any other players. The RDRAM for the computer is insanely expensive and the cards I have found have been reasonably priced. I took apart my compy and I have two 64mb sticks, and two 128 sticks for a total of 374mb of RAM.....uggghh... That will have to wait. I have enough money to buy a new card. I was thinking about.

I plan on sometime in the near future building a whole new rig. But, for right now I need a quick fix. These cards are both 4x/8x compatible. The first one says it needs a minimum of a 300 watt power supply, and the second says it needs a 250 watt power supply. I found a website that said my computer had a 250 watt max, but I took my computer apart and examined it and I found out I have a 330 watt max power supply. Can someone please help me. I need to know if one of these cards will work in my computer. I know a little bit about this. Enough to put it in myself and see if things match up. But, I'm not sure if there's something I'm missing. The specs for the cards are on both links. I just need to know if one or both will work. I'd like the first one, but, if the second one is the only one that will work, that'd be fine. I found a review stating that the second card worked fine in a Dell Dimension 8100 for someone, but the pic it showed in the review was of a different card. It looked totally different. Stating that it was a Nvidia GeForce FX5500 256mb AGP card. But, showing something else. Please neweggers! I need help. I need a new card now! If neither of these will work, can someone maybe suggest a card to me that they know will work? Maybe someone that has experienced the same situation.

i wanted to play some simple online games (maple story, cabal, and MAYBE wow) but i have no video card, and my cpu cant handle it (well it sort of handles ms). i figured out that i have one pci express 16x slot on my mobo, and was wondering what kind of card will allow me to play games like that at DECENT speeds (like cabal on lowest quality or w/e). preferably one for under 40$?? also what do al the specs of a graphics card mean, and which are important?

Help Choosing Netbook - Unique Circumstances

I'm looking to get a netbook, but am having a little trouble. I already have a desktop gaming computer, and actually already have an ordinary laptop. However I'm looking to get something much more portable, so I want a netbook to supplement those two. Since I don't really need it to fulfill the roles that the others do, I mainly want to take it to class for notes and surf a couple of sites. However, again I already have a laptop so I can always watch videos in a separate room on that, or play games on the many portable game consoles I have, or on desktop. I'm not sure where to turn, as a lot of these seem to be aimed at people who don't have any laptops.

I keep reading how several new netbooks are coming out soon, so I'm also wondering if I should wait. I can wait a little bit, but I don't want to wait too long because I would like this for class. The current laptop is just far too heavy and bulky to easily take to class like I would want. Also, with Windows 7 coming out/has come out I'm unsure of what netbooks will fully support it, if I should wait for those that are officially shipped with it, or what have you. I don't want to spend too much, I would like for it to be around 350, though getting up there near 420 would be tolerable. I simply don't know what to choose. It seems that they are evolving so fast, should I go with a standard 10 inch, wait for a good 11 inch with a bigger resolution, or go with a 12 inch with that HD resolution. Again, I already have a laptop to use around home, so I don't need the netbook to do everything, but with recent changes, what should I pick?

The only ones I'm going back and forth between right now are the Asus EEE PC 1005ha for a 10 inch (but again, that lower res) or a 12 inch Samsung NC20 (However I already have a bigger laptop, so I may not need 12 inch) But I'm up for anything really, not just those two. I don't know what to do.

After a Windows update or NOD32 mistakenly trashed my gaming keyboard program, I discover that I can't find the disk and the company's apparently gone out of business. Does anyone know of a source for the Ideazon keyboard manager program for the Z Merc? One that does NOT involve those driver scam sites? ("download this blahblahblah driver and automagically update ALL your drivers!! Never worry about blahblahblah ever again!!!")

The Ideazon TSR allows the user to set custom configs for individual games and comes pre-packaged with most of the popular ones (at least ones that were popular when the CD shipped...).

HELP! My first computer build!

Hello folks!

So this will be the first computer that i have ever built...or will build. Bellow are all the parts that i think will work and i was wondering if anyone out there could double check to see if this will work or if i have missed any parts that i need to build a computer. I will be using my old dvd and cd drives as well as my old sound card.

The purpose for this system is to render computer graphics( see some of what i have done here http://scorpio-empire.deviantart.com/ ) My current system has 2 gigs of ram on a pentium 4 system. My current system wont let me create art pieces that are over 2 million polygons so thats why i have added so much ram to this system. It takes several days to render some of my art and i would like to cut down the render time to a small fraction of what it takes now.

I have added to pairs of 3d glasses because me and my wife enjoy 3d movies so i am trying to make this a art and entertainment computer. On reading these post i may upgrade to a larger hard drive but i rarely keep more than 100 gigs of data on my pc

Looking for input with regards to this all being compatiable. The OS Im buying is vista 64bit is that compatiable with the Processor and motherboard? Im not looking for better choices just want to know when I put this all together it will run smoothly or even turn on.
