Won't begin start up even after full parts/connector inspection.

Here's what I bought: (if you see a compatability problem, let me know... all of it should work together just fine)

I have the CD/DVD Rom drives from the old PC transfered into the new Coolmaster case. Also I just bought a new HDD a month ago and transfered it to the new tower.

Here's the deal, I got it all in. It was all hooked up properly. I push the power button on the case and it slowly revs..revs...revs.. and then shuts off. I have no idea what the problem here is. I can't find a problem anywhere. I've removed the PSU and put in another from the old PC I was replacing (550 watt). That one imediately shut down and didn't even rev. So, I systematically remove possible componants (CD/DVD drives), leds, case fans and the like to see if that's the problem, still no love.

I'm about ready to throw something here. This isn't my first build, and I've modded almost every PC I've ever owned, but this $#%@& is driving me crazy people. If anyone has a decent idea as to what is going on (or not able to go on) I'd really appreciate the assist.

Hey everyone,

Long story short, im looking to buy a Mobo / CPU (intel only plz) / Graphic card (PCI Express 2.0) / RAM and i would like to keep cheap but good.

This isnt going to be any kind of overclocking job, just wanna upgrade my little bro's PC so he can play world of warcraft smoothly, and not run out of FPS like he does when he enters Dalaran.

So if anyone could take a few minutes to reccommend some components that you've either had the chance to test out yourselves or know are reliable.

I'll be running WinXP Pro SP3 on the machine if that makes any difference. (32 bit)

dual monitors with a geforce 6200 graphics card

about a year ago i purchased a geforce 6200 graphics card with the intention of having a greater performence on my computer, but now i have decided to add a second monitor to my hp pavillion a1110n computer, the original card in my computer did not have any outputs but my geforce card has a dvi and video port i tried hooking up my monitors to the video port on the motherboard and the port on the graphics card. that didnt work so i did some research and found that i have to use the dvi port, but i cant figure out how to attach the monitors, every where i read it says that you have to have two dvi or vga port but then other sites say the geforce card i have does support dual monitors, so the question im asking is how do i connect two monitors to my geforce card with one dvi port and one video port.

I'm new at all this computer and internet stuff, even though I have been in the Computer Hardware Industry for 20+ years. PCB Desiger by trade. Worked on Unix Mainframes thru PC's. Used almost all OS's with the exception of MAC. Looking at the possibility of working for myself. Trying to decide what to do with the "Rest of my life". Currently un-employed, so my options are wide open. I'm a hard worker, and learn best, hands on. Residing in the NorthBay area of California, and prefer not to move.
