Another vote for SSD :)

  • Re: Price Gouging on Intel X-M G2 SSD's at Launch

Your claim and complaint of price gouging is unfounded, pure and simple. Feel free to file it and watch it get dismissed just as quick, all you will have done is wasted your time. If you don't like the price, don't buy the item. It truly is that simple. NewEgg is a company that can charge whatever they like, and they are. Personally, I ...

  • Re: GA-MA790XT-UD4P: Auto, PWM, or Voltage for CPU Fan

It's a 4 pin plugged into the cpu connector on the board. According to the gigabyte manual its pwm.

It does, I think, which is why I'm so confused why it's doing what it's doing.

  • Re: Stupid Question: Direction of CPU fan

Makes some sense. I guess either way air is still being drawn out. I can't believe I put it on the wrong way. I went in there looking for something else and felt air blowing on my hand! Silly mistake.

  • Stupid Question: Direction of CPU fan

This is a stupid question, but I'm curious. Which direction is the CPU fan supposed to mount on a scythe mugen 2 (or any cooler I guess). I thought it was supposed to blow in, across the cooler, and towards the rear case fan. When I mounted it, despite knowing this, I placed the fan so that it blew air towards the front of the case by mistake. ...

  • GA-MA790XT-UD4P: Auto, PWM, or Voltage for CPU Fan

The question pretty much says it all. In the BIOS I've got three options for how to set the CPU fan under the ''PC Health Status'' menu, Auto, PWM, or Voltage. I've got a Scythe Mugen-2 CPU cooler on it and it works well but the options confuse me. After some testing I see PWM keeps the fan at its full speed, about 1200 RPM. Auto keeps it ...

  • Re: OEM Pricing?

]1. The post wasn't about the crack or its usage, read it again. I'm sorry you can't see that. It was about how I've grown tired of using them and actually wanted to go legit and do things legally. If even that's a crime, fine. I respect that. 2. I know when the release date is, but was wondering since it seems virtually every other detail of ...

  • OEM Pricing?

I just built my new PC and I'm determined to do things legally this time, or at least try to. I've grown tired of hundreds of cracks that never seem to work and the inevitable failure of some sort that will happen. I've been looking around at my options and it seems the OEM versions are by far the cheapest. I was going to get Vista Premium with ...

  • Re: My new build Will it work =]

Will it work, yes. I'd change a few things though to save yourself some money. 1. The processor. The Phenom II x 4 965 is a brand new release from AMD. The BIOS of the motherboard you chose *might* need a flash to the latest version to recognize this chip correctly. The board has been out for a while, but the chip is brand new. Make sure ...

  • Re: Balancing load on triple +12v rails?

Indeed! I hooked everything up about a week ago and it's been running smoothly ever since if you ignore the human error that occasionally broke things. I just attached the cables and went! It was a beautiful thing. Thanks for the help, CompWiz.

  • Re: Adjusting clock from 1066 to 1333

Thanks very much. I guess I never expected it to run stable at 1.5 V with 1333 Mhz considering all the reports I read said it wouldn't. Memtest ran for another 8 or 9 hours without any issues and Windows seems to be handling it ok. I think, for the heck of it, I'll leave it as what it was meant to run at and nothing lower.

  • Re: Adjusting clock from 1066 to 1333

Ok, so now I'm a little confused. In an effort to make my computer not post due to RAM issues I dialed back the voltage to 1.5 and left the timings at 7-7-7-20 and clock at 1333. I also adjusted the other values to what SPD suggested instead of what Auto had them set at, which was higher. Much to my surprise it posted, booted into Windows, and ...

  • Re: Adjusting clock from 1066 to 1333

Ok, so now I'm a little confused. After a bit of reading I see that the SPD is what the motherboard should be reading, however, on Auto it set the timings and stuff to something completely different. Just to see if I can get windows to not boot I dialed back the voltage to 1.5, kept the clock at 1333, and set everything in the Bios to the spd ...
