Thanks for the suggestion, I've looked into it and that does look like it could be an option at the least. On another forum it was hinted that XBMC can do the same type of thing, I may end up trying them both out.
I'll keep checking back though in case anyone else has input

Hey all,
I'm doing work in an office, trying to make their new system user friendly. Basically, they have a bunch of LCD TV's, all with Coax runs to a utility room in the back of the building. I hooked up a ZV Pro 250 in the utility room, so now all the TVs can tune into channel 131 to receive hi-def over Coax to whatever is streaming from ...

I have Securecode setup properly... up in this thread you can see that NewEgg found and fixed a problem with their site that wasn't calling up the Securecode prompt. It's been fine since. However, I recently put a purchase through, and the Securecode didn't prompt again... seems like the same problem, I could be wrong though.

Just wanted to bump this up again... a recent order was declined again. I don't know for sure that it's the same reason, it could be that my CC company locked the card for some other reason. But has anyone else been having the problem with Securecode not showing up again? It didn't for me.

cornfused, you may get it earlier than you're thinking. I live about an hour east of Toronto, and I get NewEgg shipments from NJ consistently in 2 days. Not sure where you live, but UPS' estimates may be a day or two off in your favour.

It very likely is a driver issue. Go to your motherboard vendor's site, download the newest drivers for everything - motherboard, nvidia/intel chipset, onboard audio, onboard video if applicable. Then do the same thing for any PCI/PCI-E cards (USB/video/audio). Also run all available Windows updates.
Unfortunately, try until you succeed applies ...

The OP seems well suited towards a career of infomercial marketing. Billy Mays replacement?

Although I like to think that any ideas are great, I have to disagree with 0125... IMO 'any old' PSU that is listed at 450 may struggle with your system, I think it being a Corsair model has you covered.
Not to say the PSU can't be the problem, but I don't see the immediate need to upgrade.

Yes, the CD for DOS will give you an ISO that you can burn. I don't recommend the Windows one for a couple reasons, one being that your PC relies on Windows being stable in the first place to do a HD check... in DOS, Windows won't crash, even if your HD is failing. :)
Note that you may have to go into your BIOS and set the boot order of the CD to ...

Download and burn a copy of WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS (CD) from herehttp://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=613&lang=en
Tell it to run a full scan and repair. I haven't used WD's in a while specifically, but it should tell you at the end if and how many physical sectors it found on the drive. If you tell it to repair ...

WereTiger, I think you're saying that you couldn't get SecureCode setup on your card... many sites (both Canadian and US sites) require this. In actuality, it's usually the card processor the company uses that requires it, so it's probably not even up to NewEgg.
If it's just one order and you'd still like to use NewEgg without getting your ...

Capt. Insane:How would the OEM OS even know you changed mobos? You can use the same hdd with the OS already installed, remove the old drivers, and install the new, and then the computer should work fine
The OS knows what the motherboard is when you install Windows. You can put the old hard drive back in with the new motherboard installed, but ...

Roger that.
I think what I came away with from reading the above link is that it's up the the system builder to decide whether a new license needs to be purchased or not when replacing the motherboard. So, I'm guessing that would be 'never' for us EggXperts who are our own system builders

FascistNation:As far as I know the licenses (EULA) for the various versions of Win7 (Oct. 22 final release version) have not been released. Hence the confusion over various issues. If they have I would appreciate Microsoft site links.
Just found this site which is a pretty good related read (again, for XP, it's entirely ...

Side note, officially one of the few differences between OEM and Retail is the licensing. Retail copies can be used on one PC at a time. If you decide to completely overhaul your system you can reuse your Retail copy. However, OEM copies are supposed to be tied in with the motherboard... one OEM key per motherboard. So upgrading anything except ...
