That pc other than beoing a cyber power is fine. It is more thanm fast enough to play most games at decent settings depending on teh size of your monitor. Anything under 22'' and you should be fine.

It is probably because he bought a cheap case that has some built in standoffs. So if you put the standoffs ontop of the built in stand offs nothing will line up. Have seen people on the forums do this afew times. Just silly noobs don't worry about it.

Can you provide a link to you pc? All I can find for a c3700 is an ancient 750mhz workstation with scsi drives.If you have a slimline case you will most likely need a low profile graphics card. A normal size one like the one you linked wont fit in the tiny case.

I don't know any places that still repair lcds. It almost always costs more or close to the same to have it repaired than to buy a new one.

It is the socket type. Some amd sockets are am2, some are am2+, and some are am3.
am2, am2+, and am3 will all work in an am2+ mobo.
am3 mobos only support am3 cpus with ddr3 ram.
