• Good use for floppy cable

I had a couple of left over floppy cables. These were the ''round'' type. I cut the ends off of them and stuffed them in the half moon shaped vinyl weather strip in the door jamb. That helped make the weather strip more firm and I don't have to put a rug up to the door now.

tooo good. I'm a command line guy myself... I evolved from toggling front panel addr/data switches on front panel of PDP 8. I'd double, triple, quadruple check everything else...like PS...and maybe even build outside the box. Would you get anything (post) if you powered up without a CPU installed? When you stick in a USB ...

Master, how would Jrock update BIOS without the system booting or a working display? I've reflashed BIOS ...but never from a system that wouldn't POST to begin with. I ask not in jest...for I do not know. The Grasshopper

It tells me: Your current graphics adapter won't support the Windows Aero user interface. If you want to experience the benefits of Windows Aero, contact your PC manufacturer or retailer to see if an upgrade is available. Then: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT ATI Technologies Inc. Compatible This device is compatible with Windows 7.What am I ...

Lest there be any doubts....I asked a light bulb web retailer: I am sorry but the Mini Can will not work with a E12 Candelabra base.

  • Re: Electrical for an outside Lamp Post

I've bought a few tools and things from Harbor Freight that were better than traditional consumer tool places. Other stuff, like you said, doesn't matter because after you use it once, it has paid for itself. These days some of the traditional tool stores /dept stores don't sell the quality that they once did. The right ...

CrazyGeorge...that would have made for a good screen name. The prize goes to my friend IamHydrogen who pointed out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edison_screw which says the number is the base size in mm. I've also come to the conclusion that halogens will be shorter...which in this fixture will be somewhat shaded. I ...

  • Re: Electrical for an outside Lamp Post

Well it's all in and working...now I gotta put my garage back together and patch up around the hole. One thing I learned: pipe cutter works a whooooole lot better than a hack saw. (Duh...) PH is cheap...and I thought ''Why do I need a tubing cutter when I have a perfectly good hack saw?'' Silly kid. If you haven't seen this post ...

  • mini candelabra bulbs

Can someone tell me what the difference between an (E11) mini-candelabra bulb and an (E12) candelabra bulb is? They look very close...but common sense says you can't interchange them. I have a lamp post that uses candelabra bulbs...I was looking for a halogen...but many are the ''mini'' variety. I guess it should be ''intuitively ...

mmmmm...Harbor Freight...I can't get out of there without buying something. I might try some PV sometime in the future to light the landscaping. Well, I got the PVC laid. Went fairly well ...all things considered. Could have used a fish tape...but pushed/pulled it through as I was going. I wonder if #12 wire might have pushed a ...

Good catch sjr.... One thing that I have to say is that the Magic Jack FAQs are very helpful...and very complete. http://www.magicjack.com/4/faq/ I'd say reviewing the FAQs is a mandatory before pursuing MJ...I know I learned a lot
