• Re: First PC Build, wondering if someone could help.

Sidicas:You don't need a sound card.. Are you planning on RAIDing the WD Green drives? If not, then you really should be getting WD Blacks as the WD Green drives alone really don't have much performance in them at all. In fact, they're more like 5200 RPM drives.. I would take the CPU down a notch or two and spend the money on a faster hard ...

  • Re: XP to 7 Partition Question

Use Paragon Partition. Its probably one of the best partition utilities out there imo. You can resize the partitions so you could make our 20g partition 25g so it will fit with some wiggle room. w7 64bit for me takes up 27g. There might be some random stuff on there too but its smaily w7. Id say 30gigis would be a safe size for your w7 ...

  • Re: upgrade from RC to retail tutorail

Tracer76:The only part that will take me a bit longer and still is installing over 300GB in games, LOL. which is about 41 games total. But I cannot count that considering that this is my fist 64bit OS where most installs have to be redone do to the (X86) folder. Also this helps with an install as well http://ninite.com/ takes most of the ...

Tracer76:NP Well I stopped doing upgrades and will only do a clean install now with a full OEM version. Upgrades can become a real headache at times. oh trust me, i agree. But i mean, going from rc to rtm. they're so similar. Its not like going from vista to w7. Anywayssssss. ill prob pick up w7 retail on BF of ...

  • Re: "NTLDR is missing" Error + Overheating Issues

i would just like to add for anyone new to computer building that may be reading.... hitting 70c is pretty bad. Given, most cpus can handle higher but at the same time you dont want to be idleing at 70c, let alone hitting 80c on load. Cleaning out your pc with a can of compressed air (NOT A VACUUM) is the best way to go about it. I clean my rig ...

  • Re: First Time Building Computer

sparker366:First off never ever buy an open box part. You have no idea why it was returned. Motherboard will fit that case cpu will fit that motherboard ram will work with the motherboard. Why do you need 8gbs of ram? I see you selected a powersupply based on price. Wrong move. Look at this tiered powersupply list and you will see the raidmax ...
