There is not a recovery option that I am aware of from the Ubuntu cd. Just boot to the live cd and you can install grub from there.
I'm assuming that you are using the same drive from your comment. If so, the first problem you might run into is partitioning. The XP disk is not going to recognize the ubuntu partition(s) and possibly not the Win7 ...

I looked at those, but they wouldn't fit behind a flat panel tv without a mount with a large offset. I would have to place it elsewhere like a server closet and run a video extender which is what we have done and trying to get away from.
