    Re: Rate My Rig!

I do like the case a lot, there is a lot of room, and its easy to access, the thumb screws are nice, no need for a screwdriver when opening. It does get somewhat hot in the case, there is a model just like the one i have only it uses 120mm fans instead of 80mm fans. As for me arranging the cables, i just rubber banded the cables together and shoved them in the 5.25 bay area. Then the wires that i couldn't push aside i just used electric tape and taped them down somewhere in the case where they couldn't be seen. The 2 front 80mm fans came with filters so it doesn't get dusty in the case as well. Im only 14 and this was my first computer iv built, and i was surprised how nicely it came out.

    Re: Rate My Rig!

Is that ram you got dual channel or single channel. I thought you might want your ram in the 1 and 3 slots instead of the first two. I'm not sure how they do dual channel these days though.

    Re: Rate My Rig!

Yeah you need to put the ram in the same colored slots to have it dual channel. So 1 and 3 for 2 sticks.

Other then that it looks real nice. Good job on the lighting and all.

Ha,yea..i had trouble the first time i powered up the computer, i was reading the motherboard manual at school and realized i didn't have the ram in the right place, got home and changed it and everything worked fine. That picture was taken before i fixed it of course.

Ahh good deal then. I do really like your rig. If i had to rate it id give it an 8/10. Blue>Red for me. I would have chosen a different case. All in all it still looks superb though. I give you a 10 for a public rating the 8 was my personal.

That's basically the machine I just bought (and am still waiting for the parts) except I got the 320MB 8800 GTS and a 74GB 10K Raptor HDD instead.  Hope you like everything.

    Re: Rate My Rig!

looks good, you need to overclock that cpu manually. it should do 3.2 easily. i use 8x400 on stock voltage on my e6600. i get 3.6 with 9x400 with 1.5vcore volts. i also have a e6420 running at 8x400 on 1.45vcore. i get over 11k on 3dmark06 with a evga 320mb superclock overclocked to 650/1900   good start to a nice pc.

    Re: Rate My Rig!

Nothin' like a hardcore DIY upgrade. I stepped up three years ago from a Gateway 750 Select to an AMD Athlon FX 53 and got 90% of my rig right here @ Newegg (bless 'em). Still have the invoice. That's a sweet setup, tho. It looks very neat and professional.

    Re: Rate My Rig!

Nicely done....Here's a cheap fix for the gaggle of wires you have under that desk. Go to a Lowe's or Home Depot style store and pick up a couple lengths of 1" grey foam pipe insulation. It's about 5 feet long and is slit down one side...very easy to slip the wires into. Viola! Neatly hidden wires that are easy to access, vacuum around, etc.
