    Firefox versions 3.5.0 slowing down?

I have used the Firefox browser from version 2.0 up. I now have version 3.5.5.

Each update keeps getting slower and slower in loading and accessing sites.

What about your tweaks and tips to improve this browser?

    Thanks!

Here is one that I added to my trouble hunting list along with the ones you sent.

    http://www.aboutonlinetips.com/problematic-firefox-extensions-and-addons/

I found that just disabling an extension does not always work. Sometimes you have to uninstall the extension.

Seems that Faster Fox was possible my problem. An insert from the above link..

Quote "6) FasterfoxMost of us install the plugin to make the firefox faster but actually it hangs or slows down Firefox by disabling Prefetching and selecting “Optimized” preset instead of “Turbo”. Fasterfox changes certain settings that can interfere with Web site access. Never install the addon because the change persists even after the plugin is uninstalled. In such case it is recommended to create a new firefox profile."

SO I bit the bullet and uninstalled Firefox. Searched the computer and the registry for left over files and then reinstall Firefox V3.5.5. I will not import anything, just start over with a clean slate. It is now loading under 5 sec. where before it was taking over 2 minutes to load. The main thing I will miss is my bookmarks, but in time I will have them back. Won't have to worry about bad ones this way.
