    Eggxpert Folding@Home Team

I noticed the eggxpert community does not have a Folding@Home team yet so I created one. If your unsure what F@H is you can check it out here

    http://folding.stanford.edu/

Its fun and you can help towards the cure for things like Alzheimer's and cancer.

    Lets get this thing started

    Team ID: 70567

    Re: Eggxpert Folding@Home Team

Not bad, Does it take a high speed connection??   how many down/up loads will it do and how often and how big?? how many recources will it use???  (can I turn it off and have it  remind me to turn it back on so I can play a game or two?) I would like some specifics in these areas.

If i could be apart of it I would like to be. My grandfather just died, he had altzheimers. my father in law will probably die this year from pancreatic cancer. and I know allot of other that have died from these illnesses.

None . Even the guy who created it wont join it.

No I have joined, I just have not finished the firt WU yet. It should be finished by tomorrow, and until then nothing shows up. That is the reason there are no members.

Cool just found the client that takes advantage of multi cores. I have 5 CPUs going now. In amonth or so will have another box up should be 6 or 7 cores by then! Come on guys so many posted in the other thread about this lets get it going! Hey Carlos how about a little advertising for this thread to help get it kick started?

Is there a way we could make this a little bit more visible to people, than just having this thread? Maybe like a F@H section..

If you check the team stats you will see what the dual core one does..basically it takes me a lil longer to finish the WU's as there huge but I get a rather large score for doing them. It only shows one processor working though :( but my score for one WU was 1760 as opposed to the others of like 250 for one WU.

I have 3 comps doing this but now one is my main machine so its going kinda slow and the other is my laptop which is obviously slower as well..should start getting WUs knocked out faster now that im not screwing with different clients and am just letting them run :P Something I noticed for lower end machines if you have the graphic client and leave the display up it makes your system blue screen and reboot.

Anyway catch up slackers lets do some good :)

Someone point this out to Jcarlos so we can get more ppl to see this thread...its own section would be great.

Yea my main computer I work on doesnt seem to pound them out as fast as my wifes computer who doesnt get on it as much. Her system though is the Intel one that has an E6600 in it to my Opty 175 its sad how much faster hers is over mine. I want to say its in the neighborhood of about 30 percent faster which is just wrong. As far as points go though you will see a huge jump in the SMP (dual core) client like I said im getting 1700 lbs to the 250 of the regular graphical client.

    Re: Eggxpert Folding@Home Team

Thanks for making a team so I can support someplace that I actually feel is worth while.  I did a couple of units assigned to no one.. but my first and second WU's for EggXpert should show up here in the next day or so..

Thanks Ross for bringing the team number to my attention...
