    LCD Panel Type Division

Hello, this is my first time posting on eggxpert but a long time NewEgg customer.

What's bothering me is that I'm having a hard time shopping for an LCD Monitor.

I'm trying to get away from TN panels but it's hard telling one from the other since they aren't listed in the specs.

I was thinking about a Dell 2209WA but naturally wanted to see what NewEgg has to offer first.

I know that NewEgg does have some IPS and PVA monitors but it would be nice if I could use Power Search and have them all listed that way.

    A very good suggestion.

Most of LCDs are TN pannels. They  are very cheap and have the fastest response times. sometimes you can tell from prices. but yup, it is always better to list them in the specs although even the manufactures neglect to mention panel types.

    price gives a guess sometimes

a semi-decent way I've found is to look at the viewing-angle, TNs are usually 170 degrees, while IPS are around 178 degrees, but even that isn't queryable

NewEgg sometimes explicitly says it like this C-PVA, so I'm sure it's doable

    hey, good suggestion there.

But the problem is newegg only post the info that manufactuers provide them with on their site, so if u want more specific info, contact manufacturer for it. FYI. basically all 22's are TN and also most cheaper 24'sStick out tongue

I understand that but usually manufacturers are pretty good at saying the panel type when it's NOT TN, and in fact NewEgg have a bunch of non-TNs' panel type listed in their product spec, I'm just asking for it to be queryable in the power search because I can't go through each of them to check
