Brand depends on the TV: Samsung and LG make the best LCDs (in fact, they're the only ones that actually make the LCDs).
Make sure that the TV has a resolution that matches the max you want to use (that your graphics card supports). I don't think any TVs have DVI ports (a lot have VGA/D-sub), but if your card supports HDMI you could always connect that way. You could do S-video, but I never had much luck with that, but that could be me.
If you've already got a TV similar to what you're looking for, experiment with ways of connecting your computer and changing resolutions (usually it's in the TV's menu) to see what works/looks best.
