Budget Build

So I am making a computer for my friends parents and I am looking to get the cost down to $460. I really cannot go any higher than that. The build will not require a video card and it needs to have a normal case with no side panel or extravagant LED's. Here is what I have came up with so far.

- I really am not sure what case to get. I am looking to get a case for around $50, but I just do not know which one to pick.
- I am also thinking of switching to PC Power & Cooling 370W PSU because its a lot better quality and is $10 cheaper. The only worry I have is if they ever decide to put a video card in it that it might not have enough Watts, but I think 370W is plenty.

EDIT:
Also one thing I want to look into is a mobo that I know is capable of unlocking all 4 core on the Phenom X2 550 B.E. I have been looking around with the mobo I have chosen and I have yet to find a guide.

Hey Tracer thanks for the advise.

-Sadly none of those Cases are any cheaper than the case I chose because of neweggs crazy shipping price.
-Also I have added that combo deal already into my build cost
-And if I am going to be buying a 430W antec wouldnt I be better going for the 380W PC power and cooling that is only $40?

I hope you don't mind but I swapped out the mobo for a Gigabyte in combo with an inexspensive case and also comboed the CPU & RAM, found a teir 2 OCZ 550 watt modular PSU for $40 after mir. I also changed out the HDD green for the blue for just $1 more.

Thanks for the advise problem is I really dont want to buy a case with no reviews on it also I really like the case I have picked out now.
Also I cant include MIR into the cost because im building it for my friends parents and they are giving me only $460.
and the Caviar green I have selected I chose over the Caviar blue because it has a $5 promo code out right now and it comes with a 32MB cache.

Also one thing I want to look into is a mobo that I know is capable of unlocking all 4 core on the Phenom X2 550 B.E. I have been looking around with the mobo I have chosen and I have yet to find a guide.

Well that is your decision, as for the HDD the green has its own problems compared with the blue. As for unlocking the cores I hope you know what you are doing because all I have seen is with the 720 X3 and unlocking the 4th core.

Ok I decided to switch mobos because it was a better brand and is known to be able to unlock 4 cores on the x2 550. This also allowed me to do a combo deal with the G. Skill Ripjaws RAM, but I had to go down to the PC Power & Cooling PSU to save a few bucks.

I dont know how much of a price difference this will make for the CPU and mobo but since they are not doing any heavy workloads on the PC this might be a bit better for cost on one of these.

The Cooler Master 590 case has 2 120mm fans. 1 in front and 1 in the rear. NO LIGHTS! (The 690 has a fan with a light according to the specs.)

I put back the BFG 550 watt power supply to help future proof it a little. If at any point they decide to get a video card, the 550 has enough power to run it. A Person here at Eggxpert (Penewah) says he has had good success using this BFG 550.

The CPU is now the AMD Athlon II 640 2.6GHz. Quad-Core. This is in a combo with the ASUS 785G Micro Motherboard.

4GB of G.Skill DDR2 800MHz. memory with timings of 5-5-5-15 needing 1.9 volts to get them there. The best timings for DDR2 memory start with a CAS of 4. (Rule of Thumb: The lower the CAS and timings, the faster the memory.)

The Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB hard drive with a 16mb cache is the better choice over the Caviar Green 500GB drive. The Green drives add a slight delay when accessing the information stored on the hard drive.

Same Sony DVD burner.
