I am looking for an LCD monitor that talks about how much heat it puts out, or the lack of heat. I am going to be going with a 6 monitor setup and would like to keep the paint from melting off the walls... so to speak.

Can be anywhere from 22" up would like the main monitor to be +25"

Have done a few google searches, but not much discussion on how much heat is generated by the monitor. I have a Gateway FDP2485W and I know it is about 5° warmer than room temp.

I have never heard a manufacture mention the heat from one of their LCD's nor have I ever heard a user care about the heat from an LCD.

I think your are the first one ever.

Thanks for the reply... Yeah it's real. I read one person talk about their 3x3 setup and how above the desk was a good 10° warmer than below where he had a quad core over clocked.

I know it won't melt the paint so to speak, but if you have a +22" LCD, touch it and you can feel the warmth it generates. I can feel mine at 3 inches away and if I leave my hand on it for 30 seconds it will get to hot to touch.

Anyways, just seeing if someone has done some research.

The heat put out by a device is going to be directly proportional to the number of watts disapated in its operation, if you can find a wattage rating on the displays the one with the lower number will run cooler.

Just need to look at wattage first.

Humm... very interesting.

I run dual monitors. I just felt the entire case of my 22" Samsung LCD and it is quite cool to the touch. Same with my 17" Samsung LCD.

I was actually surprised at how cool it was, I was expecting it to be warmer...

Both monitors run 24/7 and never get turned off.

Maybe only some have heat issues, who woulda thunk.
