    A tale of two laptops...

So, for my birthday, I've been wanting to get a laptop, but I'm having trouble deciding between two different laptops.

    HP Pavilion DV6-1361SB

    ASUS N51 Series N51Vn-X1A

Both have similar specs, the HP has a bit better ram. The Asus has the better warranty with the accidental damage. Which one would you choose and why?

Re: A tale of two laptops...

The HP comes with windows 7 and the ASUS comes with vista. Unless you have a copy of 7 on hand I would go with the HP. Spec-wise they are very close. The ASUS accidental insurance makes up for having slightly slower RAM.

Part of me would go for the ASUS, but having them be the same price and one come with Vista makes the difference night and day. ASUS makes good computers though so if you already have windows 7 then by all means get the ASUS.

The asus comes with the ability to upgrade to windows 7 for the cost of shipping the cd to you, so I think i'll go with the asus. My friend works at a computer repair shop and told me they recieve many HP laptops in with fried motherboards about a month after the warranty is up, so I'll go with asus. Thanks.

I would go for Asus. I had an HP laptop in college, it worked fine, but I was always jealous of my roomate's asus notebook for its nice appearance and great quality. u can use asus for years and still don't feel regreted.

The Asus one is quite good but I don't know why I just like the HP one. When the specs are more or less the same just choose the one you like I mean the design Guitar
