Power supply has only 1 8 pin connector, what next

    Power supply has only 1 8 pin connector, what next

    My power supply has 1 single double row 8 pin connector, 4 ground and 4 +12V. My motherboard requires 2 of these connections. Is there a cable I can get that can attach to the single connector so that I can make 2 connections, or do I have to get a different power supply?

    What are the specs of your new PC and what power supply do you have?

    I have a Tyan S7025 motherboard, and an OCZZ1000W RT power supply. The spec on the motherboard says that it requires 2 8 pin power connectors, these are 2x4, with 4 ground and 4 12V.

    That PSU should handle it just fine with a EPS12v adapter cable. Yes

    (if you don't have an extra PCIe connector to plug it into, you can also find Molex adapter cables)
