PSU Makes Wierd Crackling Noise When stress testin

Hum. So I decided to run a stress test on the Radeon 5870. As soon as the test starts, a weird crackling noise comes out of the PSU. Eventually the whole computer shuts off in mid test. I took video/audio of the crackling. What do you think of the noise in the video? This is a brand new computer build.

EDIT: This is a modular PSU. I took it out of the case and reconnected all the pieces. I think of the cables was not connected great. Now the computer does NOT turn off, but I still get the odd crackling sound.

That crackling sound is more than likely ARCHING!!!!!!!!  that means electricity is jumping from one point to another in side the PSU.

DO NOT USE THAT PSU ANYMORE OR YOU RISK DAMAGING ALL YOUR EQUIPTMENT ............ RMA IT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!

(RMA = send it back to newegg or the manufacturer as defective)

Probalby more of bad bearings in the fan. This may be causing the fan not to speed up enough to cool the power supply resulting in the OTP (over temp protection) to kick in.

When one of the balls in the ball bearing runs out of the race, or there was not one there to begin with, it may bang around and make this crackling sound.

If it was arcing, this psu would have fried, or tripped the SCP (short circuit protection)

Considering that the PC is shutting down because of it I'd assume that the SCP IS tripping, lol.

If the cracking was arcing, you would barely hear it once, and then it would suddenly shut down.
