Suggestions For a Gaming Machine for Husband!

You all have been great helping me in that past.  I took the suggestion to buy Dell Vostros for my office and they are fantastic.  I am hoping you can help me again.

I am looking for a gaming machine for my husband's birthday.  He wants a good size monitor and also Windows 7 for the OS.  I am looking to spend around a $1,000.  Any suggestions would be great.

     Thanks.  Big Smile

Have you considered giving him all the parts to build a nice custom built gamer? We generally posit there's much better value in building your own.

NE did have a i7 920 Gateway though for a grand a believe the other day on deal. But again, some parts in this thing are low quality, like the PSU, case, etc. And you can see from the revs, people have issues with it, for some reason or another.

If hubby is tech inclined, have him open up about 10 different boxes and put it together himself.

Thanks for the suggestion but no, he's not tech inclined.  I need to buy a machine that is already built.

For a gaming machine, Gateway FX is okay but you will fork out $200 plus for a high quality LCD. But for $1000 budget, Intel core i7 rig is the way to go. This Intel core i5 rig is okay but it is a CyberpowerPC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229128
