That is a 24pin atx main power and a 8pin atx 12v power.  The mb manual does not say if it can work with a 4pin connector, I would guess it is not recommended but it would likely work, though I would not guarantee it or give it a very long stability if connected that way.  The manual does also say it recommends a 500w psu.

Re: What kind of cpu power connection does this need?

I have the related GA-MA790GPT-UD3H (AM3/DDR3 only version) on order and it too has the 2x12 + 2x4 power hookups. The UD3H manual at least states that "The power connectors are compatible with power supplies with 2x2 12V and 2x10 power connectors" as well, although it has the recommendation for a 500W+ power supply too - but a 2x2 12V connection should work. For my build at least (an athlon II X2 with no expansion slots used), a power supply large enough to come with the 2x4 12V would be gross overkill.

It depends on the CPU. If your CPU draws more than 95 watts then its recommended that you use 8 pins, if 95w or less, 4 pins is just fine.
