    Just bought SONY VAIO AW Series VGN-AW290JAH

    Very cheap open box on newegg right now. Question is can I replace the internal harddrive to a 2.5 inch solid state drive??

    Yes, of course.it  is a SATA interface

    Thank you so much for the quick response Now I just have to figure out if I can afford the 600 or so for a 256mb drive

    Yes they are Identical physically, and are forward/rearward compatible.

    A very good laptop and it deserves a SSD. :-)

    But SSD is still pricy.
