looking to buy a "TV" monitor

I am looking to get the monitor to use as a TV hooked up to my cable box that supports HDMI. I see alot of monitors on newegg that advertise in the description 1080p. Could I still just use any monitor that has a HDMI input or does it have to specify 1080p to be able to use the monitor as a TV?

If it has an HDMI port then you have two [maybe more] options:

    1. Get an DVI-to-HDMI converter/cable
    2. Get a new graphics card with and native HDMI output [this is optional if you have a DVI port already]
For the most part, LCD TVs and LCD monitors are almost the same. With ATI and Nvidia graphics card you can scale the screen size to match the proportions appropriately.

    Reasons to get Windows 7:
    Snap to maximize windows
    Formatting huge hard drives
    It's Vista but better

The ASUS M4A78-E sucks, don't get it.
