To buy, or not to buy?

Im looking to buy a good gaming computer that is under or around 1000. I recently found this one on New Egg, and Im not really the person to ask about gaming computers, ect. Aion recently came out, and I am looking to have a computer that can play both WoW and Aion decently. I found this one, and it looks promising to me, especially when I was going to get the dell xps 630 for the same price (I know, kill me).

    Here is a link:

The 9500 card looks nice, to me atleast. Can someone help me out here?

    Thanks in advance!

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

If you look closely you will see it is using a micro-ATX mobo which limits you for future upgading or add on cards so I would say no to this one plus 9500 VC is outdated. If you must go AMD then I would recomend this one at $780 more upgradeable plus a Gigabyte mobo.

Ooh, good point, nice find and thanks a lot!

How do you think this game will put up with WoW and or Aion, I remember seeing that the recommended Video Card for Aion was an NVIDIA 6800, so would the 9800GT be good?

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

You are more than welcome, as for the games no idea I am not a gamer but I do know computers and their components and the 9800 GT will handle the newer games far better than the 6800 or the 9500.

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

A friend tells me that I should look for a computer with more speed, Im not sure how to tell how much speed that computer has. Also says that it doesnt have wireless? Not sure what he meant by that. Can you help me understand how he figured this out?

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

There is only 1 step higher and that is the 965 CPU, he is talking about the internet connection a wireless card but it does have the rj45 ethernet connection for DSL and with that mobo you can always buy a wireless card for $20-$80 cheaper if you catch them on sale. If he is talking about RAM that is another thing you can change out at a later date for upgrading and the same goes for the VC.

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

On new egg, when you search on desktops it will give you a choice on the side for CPU Speed, but next to the name it will have the GHz. I dont understand, a computer that has a high CPU speed, but a lower GHz, and a computer with super low CPU speed, but high GHz. Can you explain this to me?

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

    CPU Speed 955(3.2GHz)

If that is what you are talking about the 955 is the CPU # issued by the manufacturer (AMD) and the 3.2GHz is the speed

    CPU Speed9550(2.83GHz)

the 9550 is the CPU # issued by Intel and the 2.83GHz is the speed.

Re: To buy, or not to buy?

The build outlined here is a nice one. You'll hopefully be happy with it. :)

    I happily buy tech! Why wouldn't I?
