    SATA HDD, IDE Optical

    Hey guys!

I'm looking for some of your expertise.  Is it possible or even a good idea to run my two HDD using SATA and my two optical drives using the Mobo's IDE connections? I'm using an ASUS P7P55D Evo motherboard, I had intended to use my optical drives from my previous computer, but forgot that they aren't able to be connected via SATA.

Anyone know if this is even do-able?

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah there should be no issues other then the big cable blocking air flow. That motherboard has an ide connector on it.

Why not just buy 2 sata opticals they are under 30 bucks a piece and that way you can keep the airflow at the max.
