Nice job on the benchmarking!
I would like to add to this discussion. For those thinking of doing this. I have had 2 gen1 x25-M drives configured in Raid-0 For over 6 months.
No Problems. I have used Vista 64 but last week I upgraded that to Windows 7 Pro (x64). BTW- Win7 upgrade ran quite nicely. My speeds are outstanding but I only measured them enough to see I was getting my moneys worth. I recall setting up a single drive and testing that first. Numbers were as expected with the single drive as well as the raid. This is a great way to go and I have had NO issues.
For anyone who wants to know, I use the raid 1 as my system drive and run it though the Drive Expert chip on my Asus P5Q-E (Intel P45 Chipset).
My other drives are a configured in a Raid 5. 4 Seagate ES2 750GB Drives. I have replaced 3 of the 4 drives in less than a year thanks to Seagate. Some had the latest firmware. The data drives are fast too as they run through an Areca ARC-1210.
I use this computer for just about anything you could imagine. VM's, Web Development, File Server. I run with 8Gb but only a dual core 3.2 GHZ CPU.
So, if you are thinking about the Intel drives, keep in mind it does work. My computer has never, never blue screened. It doesn't crash, I have never had the OS hang. I use this thing at least 8 hrs every day.
BTW- This is cheap today. I have over $1500 in my 2 SSD's.
