    Paypal Problems

Hi I am new to newegg.ca, I tried to purchase through paypal, I live in Rural Ontario Canada & have had a confirmed paypal account for over 5 years @ the same address.

However the newegg.ca processing software refuses to process my order.

I spent several hours with newegg's & paypals  customer service trying their solutions with no resolution to the problem.

I adjusted my paypal shipping address to exactly match my credit card billing address removing any non standard symbols in the address such as the "#" sign in RR # 3

then I adjusted my newegg shipping address to match.

so now my address reads as:

    name: Me

    Address: ***************

    City: Fenelon Falls

    Province:Ontario

    Postal Code K0M-1N0

    Country:Canada

Now when I try to process the order I get a message from newegg.ca telling me that the address received from paypal contains un recognizable characters.

What kind of c**p is this?

I don't know what kind of software these idots are running but it should not be doing any kind of address checks if paypal status is "address confirmed" newegg software should accept it as is & not be second guessing it, if there is a problem the order should be flagged for manual approval not dropped as it is now.

if anyone knows how to resolve this I would like to know because newegg.ca has a lot of interesting things at good prices & I would like to do business through my paypal account.

Edit: Best not to share personal information such as addresses on the public forum.  - Paul

    Re: Paypal Problems

    well this is bu*****t,

I got a the following response from Newegg Customer service:

    (Dear Customer,

    Thank you for contacting Newegg.

We are sorry to hear that. Please note that we only accept PayPal associated with a credit card as payment. In addition, security reasons, we require shipping address of Paypal order must be matched with billing address, and the billing address must be matched with Paypal confirmed address.

If you still cannot place orders when your PayPal is associated with a credit card and there is no problem with your address, please place the order with other payment methods. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please visit our FAQs page. If you still need assistance, please feel free to email me directly and I will be happy to assist you.)

claiming to accept paypal as a payment option while refusing to accept paypal approved & confirmed payment methods is wrong.

I pay from my bank account through paypal for all purchases under $100.00

To help reduce possible fraudulent charges on my credit card I have a card with a low balance  & keep it maxed out except for when I wish to make a major purpose, I make all minor purchases through paypal funded from my confirmed bank account & shipped to my paypal confirmed address, As a non ebay seller it would be in your better interest to take bank payments because paypal policy is to confirm delivery only, so you could ship an empty box & the customer would have no recourse as long as you shipped it to a confirmed address, un like ebay purchases, paypal will not investigate disputes over contents & will back the seller if the seller has proof of shipping, that is why as a buyer I will not fund over $100 form my bank account from non ebay sellers.

regardless the point of using paypal for buyers is to not have to reveal any credit card info to online sellers, if yous are not prepared to accept paypal approved payment options then yous should not list paypal as an accepted payment option.

wasted 2 days of my time & 1 hour of long distance phone call to paypal , don't worry about my future business its lost, if yous want to get it right either stop trying to set up secondary (non paypal approved) security measures that conflict with paypal verified & confirmed payment options or remove paypal as an accepted payment option.
