    ADSL v. Carrier Pigeon

    Bob Evan's - Global CIO:

A carrier pigeon thrashed a local ASDL service in transporting 4 gigabytes of data 60 miles in a South African showdown watched by several billion (well, actually, a few hundred) people around the world on Facebook and Twitter. In the two hours it took the pigeon to deliver its memory-stick payload, the ASDL service was able to transmit only 4% of the data.

ADSL is a waste of freaking time.

Opps call the shocky monkey. Next time they need to release the cats for dinner time. But I do agree ADSL is a waste well here anyway where I live its way too slow, and cable is much faster in my area.

For a big massive file the Pigeon may be faster but I gotta believe the latency is quite crappy.  Maybe some really slow turn based gaming is about it for interactive stuff.
