    Switching between 5.1 and Headphones

I've been using IDT integrated audio, and I have noticed that when using headphones I lose the audio from the center and rear channels.  This is really annoying when I'm playing a game that uses the center channel for speech.  The only way for me to fix this is to go into settings and adjust the speaker setup.

Are there any internal sound cards that can automatically mix 5.1 audio into 2 channels for headphones?  Do most of them do it?
