TV Tuner that displays Digital and Analog???

Just for reference I'm not completely stupid. This is more of an annoyance than anything...

I want a tv tuner that will show both digital and analog channels, without having to switch back and forth from a Digital tuner to an Analog, I just want to flip thru the channels and have both display one after another.

For instance, I have channels 1-10 that are analog, then channel 11 that is digital, then back to channel 12 as analog. I want to be able to channel up on my remote and never have to push any other buttons to change from the analog to the digital. My TV I have to push DTV/TV on my remote to get it to change to the all digital channels. However my friends TV can display them all at once. Is there a tuner that will do this???

    Thanks!

    Chris

Re: TV Tuner that displays Digital and Analog???

First of all there's no analog signal over the air, therefore, you can only get analog from a wall cable. So, basically any TV tuner card that comes with NTSC and QAM tuning capabilities. You hooked it up to a cable from a wall. Then scan for both NTSC and QAM signals. There are TONS of those. Here I am assuming that your cable provider gives you digital QAM in your area. You can check whether / what channels are available in your area at:
     http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/channels
*This site also has lists for over the air digital signals (ATSC) so make sure that the list you see is set to QAM (digital CABLE) after choosing your region.*

Though unlikely, if your cable provider gives you no QAM channels via cable, you will need a tuner card that has two connectors, so that you can hook one up to a wall cable for analog/ NTSC, and the other to an over-the-air antenna for ATSC reception. Here are some that have two connecters. BUT please do your own research to make sure.
