So much for a price drop in Intel G2 SSDs

I noticed NewEgg.ca put up the new G2 versions of the Intel SSDs. They're going for 522$ a piece. What ever happened to the low prices we were supposed to see concerning these drives? They literally doubled the G1 prices... just great. To top it off, they raised the original G1 80 GB prices to 266$ each. :(

    Wah.

Can you get them cheaper elsewhere?

Yes, through a private supplier of mine (EMJ/Synnex) but they don't have any in stock right now. They have it going for 245$/ea.

So the answer is no you can't get them for cheaper because the places that did are out of stock...

And $245 <--> $266 sounds like a reasonable price differential for a item on the open market to me.

Capitalism at work, places that offer it for a better price sell out.

I can't get them now, but they take backorders until their warehouse is stocked. So yes, I can get them for cheaper, I just need to be patient... like 1 or 2 weeks patient. And the 245 vs. 266 is the G2 vs. G1 respectively.
